1 - Safelists (E Mail Marketing)
It is an accepted fact amongst virtually all online marketers that e mail marketing is one of the most powerful methods of “getting your message out there”. By registering with a number of different safelists you are given the opportunity to e mail literally thousands of double opt in leads each week... and it won’t cost you a penny!
What is a Safelist?
In simple terms, a safelist is an e mail list made up of members who have given their permission to receive e mails from all of the other members in return for being able to send an e mail out to other members themselves. It is totally free to join a safelist, although you will find paid upgrade options available within each list offering a number of different benefits.
The size of each safelist varies. Some only have several hundred members, whereas others have thousands. Some allow you to send single messages only once a week, whereas others allow you to send several e mails every day.
When you register with a safelist you will be asked to provide two e mail addresses: a list address and a contact address.
Your list address is the one which will be literally bombarded with e mails from other users so it is absolutely crucial you have a totally separate address for this purpose. I advise you to use Google Mail as it is accepted by all of the safelists.
Your contact address will be used by the safelist admin team for sending occasional updates and messages. You can use your private e mail address here if you wish, but if you want to keep all of your online marketing activities separate, then I suggest you set up a second Google Mail account for your contact address also.
Whenever a member of a safelist clicks on a web link in another member’s e mail ad, they are awarded credits after viewing the ad for 20 seconds or so. The more credits they earn, the more people they can e mail. In addition to the thousands of regular e mail ads delivered every day, some members also pay to send out what are known as solo ads. These messages are delivered to the contact e mail addresses of each member and you earn many more credits when you click on them.
Every person who joins a safelist agrees to receive ad messages from the rest of the list, so you can rest assured that any promotional material you send via the safelist will not be returned as spam. There are however certain rules you need to follow and some genres of site such as adult and gambling related are not accepted.
Almost all of the safelists offer very attractive rewards - both in the form of cash and additional credits - when you introduce a new (active) referral to their program.
How many safelists should you join?
Because of the sheer volume of e mails received by safelist members each day, it’s an accepted fact that a high percentage of the ads you send will be deleted without ever being seen. To stand any sort of success many of the experts recommend you use at least 20 safelists on a regular basis.
If you are unsure of where to start looking for the best safelists to join a really excellent starting point is by registering at Traffic Hoopla. Every week the TH team publish lists of the top safelists as voted for by their users. It’s an impartial and really useful resource. What I also like about Traffic Hoopla is that you can join any of the safelists featured directly through their site, add your unique user name for each list in your private members area, then anyone else you refer to Traffic Hoopla and who joins one of the safelists automatically becomes one of your referrals. This can result in you earning literally thousands of additional credits as well as cash rewards.
My Top 7 Safelists
The following safelists have really struck the balance right in my opinion. They send out a handful of solo ads each day but not so many that members don’t need to surf through the free members’ ads too in order to earn credits. This means it’s a win win situation for both free members and those who want to invest in paid advertising.
